Has anyone ever used HTG supply brand bulbs? are they any good ? or should i just upgrade my bulb when ordering from them?

i don't think they're bad per se, but i'm a believer in buying a better quality bulb.. there was once a thread on here, i'll look for it in a few, that should a grow between a cheap brand bulb, and a quality, name brand bulb.. and the differences were night and day.. big enough to convince me..

oh wow that is night and day for sure. It is just for veg but after seeing those photos i might not skimp on the veg either..

but is a 250w hps from htg supply better than cfls hahaha? this is my second grow and im going with the htg 250w hps.so a noob like me prob just use there stock bulb.my first grow was all cfl grow i only grow couple plants

oh hells to the yeahs, any hid bulb, be it hps or mh, will always out shine, pun intended of course, cfls of the same wattage.. watt per watt, hids blow away cfls..

I think im going to go HID myself also. I know people say MH is better for veg and HPS is better for flowering. What should I veg with? Im gonna use a agromax tent "original" 39x39x79 just for veg then move them under a bigger 1kHPS in another room. What should i veg with if im just looking to put a couple of cuttings and let them veg while the donors are flowering??
and should i worry about heat in a tent of that size? what do i do for air intake for these tents?

personally, i think a 1k watt bulb is going to be way too much for that small of a space as the heat emitted from it is going to a ton, just my $.02..
you can veg or flower under either an hps, or mh, but people usually use an mh for veg and an hps for flowering, but you can use either for the entire grow ime..

actually the 1k bulb is in another room thats much bigger. I only have one planet flowering at a time maybe two but i get them decent size. I ordered some really nice genetics from sannies and attitude bank and if i come across a pheno that is remarkable i dont wanna let it go. I was just wondering what the best bulb to put in the little space to get the cuttlings going with veg while the momma is flowering. almost like a half ass sea of green set up.

those htg bulbs are cheap china bulbs the ones you can buy for 10 bucks or less off ebay. I strongly suggest getting a higher quality bulb . if it costs less then 45 bucks some thing is not correct . expect to spend 60 to 250 for a good bulb.

Buying a cheap bulb is a guessing game. Somerimes you get them, and they fire up nicely, other times DOA, and another might flicker. You are also at a greater risk of failure while in use, having the bulb blow up or worse, causing a fire.
You may have a cheapie work great, but be prepared to replace it every other month, az they will not maintain the output. So in the long run, it is costing you more over the course of a year.
Is there a reason to own one? IMO, yes. I keep a brand new iPower 400 watt, 600 watt and 1000 watt HPS & MH on my shelve. They are for emergencies, and testing if i think I have a problem with a ballast or hood.

i recently bought a 250-400w. ballast & was gonna do a 250w. grow but at last minute put in a 400w. bulb i used for a short time when i first started growing & you guessed it its a htg supply one that came as a package deal when i bought my first light ill replace it next grow but its working good for now im glad i didnt throw it away im gonna say it will get you by but in the long run youre gonna want to upgrade these are currently growing under an htg bulb ive heard people badmouth htg but that was my first light & a friend is still growing with it almost 5 years later it came with a mh conversion bulb for vegging i gave it away with the 400w. light funny its gone full circle & im back using a 400w. lightSimilar threads
