Hps ?

Ok so my grow room has 6.25 sq feet and i have 312watts of fluorecent with some being 6500k and some being 2700k with that being said im at 50 watts per square foot which from my research is where i need to be....im only gonna be growing 6 plants so i wanna add a hps light u guys think 50watt hps is gonna be sufficent for my space n plants???

I'd get a 250 at the minimum. A 400 or 600 would be better. Your yield is gonna be mostly governed by the amount of light you give them. The rest is genetics of course.

So do i even need to add the hps? Or should i just switch all my lights to 2700k?

HIDs are the sun, Floros are a flashlight. HID has so much more penetration and intensity, that given the choice, go with HID lights, and scrap the floros for flower. Use them for your veg room

hismoke, i'm new to RIU but consider myself pretty familiar with growing. There's a lot of hype around the HIDs, here's my two cents; 1. You can get good bud with CFLs (keep your lights low, your plants lower) 2. It's a fantastic learning experience. Any chance you have pics of your set up?

There's no hype about HID's. Yes you can get good bud with CFL's but you can get much better with HID's. The OP should get a 400 - 600 watt HPS and call it a day.

So 1st pic is the a.c. I knocked a strip of the wall outn have a portible a.c. Unit set a 68 The self is removable i have knotches a foot apart..

2x2 space roof goes 12-13 feet but im gonna perminantly mount self right above the 4fters thats as tall as im going

5 hanging cfl=27 watt actual, 1600lumens
1 hangin cfl=43 watt actual, 2150lumens
2 fixtures mounted on walls, 13 watt actual apiece, 850lumens apiece
2 four foot tubes= t5 54 watt actual apiece, 4600lumens apiece

Now THAT's a tight looking space!! NICE!!!

You need to get you some ventilation in there, and a good fan blowing on the plant soon.

yea, your space will produce really well with a HID and vents... Just saying if you go HID, you will never look back

Ok so will just 1 150 hps be enough for the sq footage?? Yeah thAnks for the complements i cant wait to get a lil garden going!! I figured out 78 watts/sq foot n 5250 lumens/sq foot u guy think thats gonna be enough penetration? How big of a fan should i get? Is a lil clip on desk fan big enough??

Just how big (Cu/Ft) is that space? Looks rather tiny, so I'd say yes. You MIGHT go with a 250, just 'cuz in this case, bigger IS better, but any more than that and you'll play mortal hell controlling temps. I'm sure you're just getting some head stash, and not trying to corner the weed market in your area. Once you smoke your own grown weed, tho, it's an insidious disease. Go take a last look at your guest room, so you'll remember what it looked like!!!!
