HPS wiring help!

I have a 100w HPS security lamp. It has a white, black and silver wire. I got a cord at menards that has white, black and green. Should the silver goto the green or ground? I need to wire this thing up quick!

i'm sorry the wire in question is copper. all copper no covering.
