HPS questions

hello guys

Can i run my hps at 400w for like 8 hours and then the rest 10 hours at 600w ? because my tent (3.3x3.3) is getting hot during the day when i run my hps at 600w.I have two autos currently in flower

You can but the better option is to cool it down so you get max light and a better yield.

How hot are we talking about?

- 84 degrees the first hours until its nightime and the weather outside is colder (i have an inline aswel to keep temps down).At night it goes around 75-78F with the 600. watt

with 400 i bilieve it will be no more than 80 during the day

84 isn't bad as long as you keep them watered and humidity around 40-50%.

They done stretching or are you going to need more headroom?

How far are you into flowering?
If you don’t have long before harvest I would leave it at 400watt it will help produce stronger terps and take into consideration heat will cause foxtail !!!

First off most are not aware of the correct way to read temperature and seem to place thermometers in enough direct or indirect light to cause a false heating of the probe. Heat is radiation conduction and convection and you want to read just one and omit the other two which in a hper reflective tent isnt easy.

You cant cool a tent the inline will merely suck the cold air out within a few seconds, you have to control the room the tent is in.

Im uk and not too hot to run during the day but i run at night just to avoid any daytime heat. Really my room temps can be higher in winter and more constant from the central heating - easily 25c before turning on the hps somedays, plants love it drink more grow faster.
