Hps question

Whatsup everyone, I just had a quick question about my new 250 Watt HPS light. I was just wondering if it was normal for the bulb to flicker a little bit, not flicker like turn off and on but just like the light current is moving around inside the little tube in the bulb, its probably normal and I probably shouldn't be looking directly at the bulb but I was just wondering.

Yea, you really dont wanna look at it to long. But it should not flicker or anything where the light dims or gets lighter, if so you could be running to much stuff on the circuit or could be the ballast going out.

make sure its screwed in all the way, it happens right when you plug it in right and doesnt ignite properly? i had the same problem, it can kill the bulb and the socket by basically fusing them together, mine was so bad i had to replace both(well, the place where i got em from was nice enough to say they would count it under the warranty it came with, even though technically it was my fault.) It's always possible your problem may be something else but thats where i would start. take the bulb out and see if it or the socket have sort of scorch marks where the electrical current had to jump.

I guess it wasn't screwed in all the way... now it doesn't seem to do it, thanks.
