HPS Lights / Couple Questions

- Will a 400 watt HPS light drastically affect my hydro bill ? I rent and dont really want landlord getting suspicious.

- How much heat would that produce? If i use that kind of light in a grow tent with a fan would that be sufficient to control the temperature ?

im in the us and a 400w raises my bill 15$ not sure what it would do for you

gotta have an exhaust fan in there pulling the hot air out and a fan blowing across the tops of the plants is a good idea too

no problem, if you keep that exhaust at the top of the tent it will pull most of the heat out... as you know hot air rises so you want exhaust at top, passive intake at bottom good luck
What kind of exhaust fan should I use ? Obviously one that fits in using my grow tent but can I just pick one up anywhere ?

When buying fans, a lot will depend on whether smell will be an issue. If it is, you need a fan that is capable of pulling through a carbon filter. Don't be fooled by cheap fans with high CFM ratings. Not all fans are created equal, and some can handle static pressure better than others. The pressure rating (usually measured in Pascals) is what you should look for. Carbon filters typically have a rating of at least 100 pascals, so you need a fan with a considerably higher static pressure rating than that, so it can still move air with the filter attached.

I live in the UK, so I don't know what brands are available to you, but ideally you should get some kind of inline centrifugal fan, if you need to use a carbon filter.

So thankful for all the helpful advice thanks again guys - And no I'm really that worried about smell, actually growing a strain that supposedly doesn't smell that much but either way I don't care.
