HPS lighting question

hey guys, i have two bogglegum plants that i vegged under 4 foot flourescent tubes equaling a total of 160 watts. i switched them to 12/12 today after 5 weeks of vegging and they are now under a 1000 watt HPS. will the HPS shock the plant(s) considering the change in wattage is so drastic?

Keep them 3 ft away at first.. then lower slowly to two feet. They will love it.

No not at all, what you need to do is work out at what point your hand starts burning when its underneath the hps. Then bring it down close to that so you dont burn the plant. It all depends on your situation and your ventilation but you could have the 1k at 2 - 3 foot right now if the heat isnt too bad, but at no point get it any closer than that.
