hps light??

ok guys i received my 150w hps light from econolight and the fixture they have it in is kinda heavy and i dont have time or materials to make my own. I wired it up and everything and its working perfectly. The problem is that i cant hang it in my grow box (plastic tote box i modded). So i was wondering if you can just simply place the light on the bottom of the case. I painted my whole box white btw

Yes it needs to hang, why couldnt you just make 2 holes at the top of your box and tie it?

One of my first grows when i was a kid i cut out a square on the lid of the tote ans set my light on the top. i was only using a 70w hps then and it stayed pretty cool. but youre def gonna have to figure out how to hang your light up brother good luck++

thanks guys, i wanted to hang it but it weighs a lot that if i do cut holes its gonna spin and rotate, or even lower itself than it should because its a plastic box. but ill probably just cut a hole and hopefully no one tries to see whats inside

after you figure out how to hang it, your going to have to figure out how to cool it, gonna be toasty in there.

I only time id advise leaving a light at the bottom of the box is if you already have one hanging from the top so you get light to both the top and bottom of your canopy, but if all you got is that one light then yes it def. needs to be hung above the plants

Well im sure we can help ya build a box that would be more ideal for the hps. Like a previous poster stated its going to be toasty in there..
