I’m find of strapped for cash at the moment and my MH bulb missed my grow budget. Since my seedlings can’t wait on me to get my funds together I’m thinking of just using the HPS bulb that I have now during veg. Will they still grow right using HPS only?

Yessssirrr! And thanks, this is my first grow and it’s a stealth grow. My Guerrilla Grows got flooded out. So I had to think of a way to come indoors and I found a way. Going to Scrog it by horizontal LST since my ceiling height is only 5ft.

Hi GuerillaGOAT,

You definitely don't need an MH bulb. An HPS will be almost as efficient for the veg. If you don't want to waste power at the beginning, use a CFL 100 or 125W with a white spectrum. Your T5 light is okay too.

It really sucks to lose out outdoor spot because of too much rain. I hope you won't give up guerrilla gardening altogether...

Cheers bro,

I appreciate that encouragement on the guerrilla growing. Once I get situated with the indoor set up and become proficient I will give it another shot. It sucked bc the plot was amazing, secluded, and not that bad of a hike. Feed in into my grow we had a hard rain and when I came back it looked like a damn lake. Smfh I was shitty for awhile.

I grow everything from seedlings and clones to full run on HPS alone. Vegetative growth is fine but stretched somewhat compared to MH. For watts burned HPS yields the most light. Not MH. All the professional growers here for retail run HPS or CMH. Majority HPS . Initial costs, operating costs and final yield all presently point to HPS.

Yea I don’t have a MH bulb I was just seeing if it would hurt the process without it.
Save your money. I have new MH given to me by guys who stopped using them. If you lived near me you could come get one. I have stopped except occasionally adding one in the tent if I'm running one strain SOG the last 2 weeks and that's for increased THC production .

One of my spots got flooded 2 years ago. After losing all my plants in May, I brought a bunch of trash cans and planted clones in them. I am happy I did it since it allowed my to save the season.

I'm sure, if you bring some containers or grow bags and fill them up with well-drained soil, you won't have this problem again. It would be a shame to abandon a super stealthy spot because of that.

In the mean time, good luck with your new indoor grow buddy!

For a 1000W HPS (depending on reflector) people normally recommend almost 3' from cannopy and +8' ceilings. Watch out carefully or you will toast those plants. For a low clearance grow look into samsung or bridgelux ledstrips. Best of luck and happy growing.

Would love to do LED but they are trying to break the bank! I’m just going to run a cooling line thru my hoods.
