How would you light this up?

Hi all, I'm starting to get really confused trying to learn about cobs and these new quantum boards. I'm hoping some of y'all can help me out. I'm current using this tent.
  • Overall Size: 35 "(L)x24"(W)x53"(H)
    Small section size: 12"(L)x24"(W)x53"(H)
    Large section size:23"(L)x24"(W)x53"(H)
I'm using 2 Mars hydro 300w in the flower side, 1 Mars hydro 300w on the veg side under the shelf. Heat has been a real issue but I manage to keep em down as best I can.
My question is how can I make this better with less heat and more efficient lighting to also save some on electric bill?
I'm thinking 1 quantum 135w for flower but have no clue what to use for veg since I don't have much head room. Also not sure if 1 qb135w would be equal to or more powerful than the 2 Mars300 I have now. I'm comfortable with my setup but from what I'm reading and seeing, I can do a lot better. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Stay Lit!

what kind of exhaust are you using? you should really use an inline fan and a carbon scrubber. you can use a cheaper ipower fan/filter combo through amazon or ebay, all you need to reduce the noise is a light dimmer or variac transformer. Either of these will reduce the speed of the fan but in turn minimize the noise. You can also build a box around the fan to dampen the sound if it drives you crazy.

what are you confused about with the COB and QB lighting techniques? The amount of power you need? ~40-50W a square foot is ideal. They need specific heat dissipation. If you do not understand circuitry i would recommend a kit from any of the advertisers here on riu. HLG and cobkits are both very popular choices and their products do very well.

Im using an inline fan for exhaust it's on a controller and does the job for now.
As far as cobs and qb goes, I'm confused on how to figure out what I need for better efficiency. Would 1qb 135w replace 2 Mars 300w or should I look at the qb 260w? I keep reading that you can't compare based on Watts from the wall. With cobs I'm just confused on matching drivers.
I'm starting to watch these growmau5 and ledgardener videos on yt, hopefully some of this will sink into my thick skull..

check out www.cobkits.com, on the wedsite he shares the specific number of lights a given driver will power, as well as the recommended heatsinks. With your room, 4 lights is probably your best bet for cost effectiveness. lumens per watt is what you are looking for to compare. But since you are using a mars hydro, you cant really make a clear comparison since the mars panel isnt rated in lm/w (i recently learned all monochromatic LEDs are rated in radiant milliwatts). so, to avoid confusing you any further, the QB 260 should be plenty for your area or 4X clu048-1212 powered between 40-60W each. If you do not have access to a workshop to assemble a frame, there is a hanging option for the COBs where you simply hang each on from the grow tent frame. You could message any of the vendors about your grow room through their actual website/email addresses for the best response.

Is that a secret jardin L120? I got one of those, i stopped using the wall between the rooms because it's not light proof, i'd recommend getting something that can cover a 3x3 for your main growth area and some 2 bulb T5's for the side chambers.
