How to vent my room, and lighting questions

Hypothetically if I decided to grow some tomatos in a 3x3 grow area 4' of grow height from top of pots to 6" from lights and I get bad heat build up how do I vent it. Above is the attic and I don't want a ton ofvheat build up in my attic. Outside the closet is my bedroom, I dont want a ton thier either. Lights would be two 400 watt MH, I already have these and dry testing the room got way hot. I dont want my tomatos to get heat damage. Is using a blower to blow into the space between my drywall a bad idea? Will that cool it down enough?

Also I saw some HPS bulbs that can be run on MH ballast, but the ones I saw were 430 watts and my ballast are 400 watt. Are their 400 HPS bulbs that can run on 400 watt MH ballast?

TIA

Hypothetically run an in line fan in the attic. That's the best place for it, out of sight and much quieter. Just run the exhaust ducting to the nearest vent in the attic and there wont be any heat build up.
There are several hps conversion bulbs that will work fine in your MH ballast. Any of the online grow shops will have them.
Good luck with those so called tomatos.

Hypothetically i'd run a fan from your grow room to your attic or outside, just make sure you use a carbon filter if smell is going to be an issue (look up how to make a cabon filter for a cheap alternative to buying an actual carbon filter)

Cool I ordered the bulb and will go order that fan now. Should I just get the 4" flexible ducting from home de pot? I assume I attach the ducting to the fan with duct tape or big cable ties?

You're going to need a 6 inch to 4 inch reducer if you want to add ducting onto that fan. The fan I linked has 6 inch flanges so either get 6 inch ducting or the reducers. Here's a pic of the reducer:
You can find this at lowe's or home depot i'm sure.

I ordered the fan, the 6" ducting, anouther conversion bulb, and a temp controller from the link you gave me.

The closet is actually 2 teirs, I was planning on seperating by using black plastic and velcro, the back part of the closet is shorter and will be for veging the tomatos. Once I seperate and vent the heat into the attic how can I allow both sections to vent with no light getting threw?

<------ Use a Y duct to seperate the airflow to each room. That fan should be able to cool both.

Awesome ty, my veg room will be done with 8 x 36 watt T5's in single lens reflectors so shouldnt get to hot. My last question is how to make sure no light leaks from one side to the other. I went to Home depot tonight and got soem 3.5mil black plastic and cut it a few inchs long on all sides. I rolled it around a wood beam and screwed it to the ceiling spllitting the two halfs and stapled and glued it down the one side. My plan was to put a second layer and part the two sides to get into the veg area but do you think the will be good enough or do I need to fix up some small door or something. I dont know how I can do this since opening the door would hit one side or the others plants, lights and such.

Ultimately I wanted to have a new batch of clones every month start and rotate one batch of clones to flower at the end of each month. So every month I have 2 month old clones go into flowering and one batch of plants ready for harvest so I have a supply every month ready. Do you think this is feasible in a 3x3 flowering area? Say 10 plants of which 5 are ready every month?

Here are some picts just to give you some ideas. I used a piece of partical board to splt the two areas. Use lots of silicone to make it light proof.

Cool but my closet is set up in teirs becuase it goes over stairs, so I was planning on using the back as veg and front at flowering, so i need to be able to get through the partition to access the veg area.

Your attic looks similair to mine, where do you vent to? Outside or into an exsisting vent system?

Vents straight outside threw the gable vent.

Thanks Randy, I think I can work this heat issue out. Now I just gotta read up more on hydro, I dont know which to set up a drip system, a ebb and flow system, or a aero system.

Well I finally went up in my attic and there is no gable. One small window but no sorce of vents or anythign to tie into. On top of that I live in a twin and the dividing wall is so thin I can see in my neighbors house through the cracks so bad smells up there would be a bad idea.

So I am thinking again of cutting a hole in the dry wall and blowing into the wall. I will need to make an intake though that goes into my bedroom which has A/C. How do I make an intake vent with out letting abient light through the vent that would screw with my dark cycles?

BTW I am setting up a bubbleponic type system of my own design. I have most of the stuff already should be good to go for when I get home with my seeds.

Maybe try tying into an existing vent. ie bathroom or range hood. That way the hot moist air is going outside and not condensing in your attic/walls. A back draft flapper is also a good idea so the grow room air does not go back into the house.
