how to remove adhesive from wall?

hey
i am a renter and i am using mylar for my grow, when i put it on the wall i was sort of in a hurry and used tape...big mistake. when i removed it the adhesive stayed on the wall and since im renting i dont want my landlord to go in my closet and see that shit on the wall. how should i remove it? i planning on using re-painting as a last resort so any tips would be great.

You can get most of it off scraping with a razor blade, point the blade up and pull down. What is left will come off with hot water, dish soap and a sponge.

You can use a solvent such as lighter fluid, paint thinner or mineral spirits to remove it. Soak a soft rag and gently rub it on the adhesive. It will only take a few minutes to dissolve the adhesive.

solvents will most likely stain the paint,if its water based paint it will stain it,what type of tape did you use? sometimes you can just keep rubbing it with your fingers to remove it but the light may have also yellowed the paint,you may be repainting it anyway I would just to be safe. good luck

it was masking tape...if all else fails i will just repaint

spray the adhesive with wd40 let it soke for a bout 5 min then it should come off quicker then snot on slime.
