How to maximize your yield on a low budget?

Well as for the noise... AC's are louder so if there is every any question you can always say the AC is on. Also what I did when I lived in an apartment I kept a small alarm clock radio on all day just loud enough to cover the sound. The fans themselves are loud it is actually the sound of the air whooshing. You can make a muffler for that if you are truly concerned. For the smell there is many many way around that, scrubbers, odor removers, and odor eliminators. a scrubber IMO is the best way to remove and eliminate air. I linked you a 50.00 scrubber that will work for the space you are exhausting. That scrubber is a one time buy, all you need to do is refill the carbon after about 8-12 months. I have had mine for two years and refilled it only one time so far. I bought 12 lb of carbon from ebay for 15 bucks, and it will refill the scrubbber about 2 more times.

No matter how you see it growing is not cheap, but you can almost ALWAYS get back a lot more than you put in. 400.00 can get you a QP easily, and up here a QP of dank nugs will score you 1000.00. I do not sell but when I buy I pay 10/g, so my 1000.00 investment saved me 200.00 in the long run, I am still using all the same spplies so this grow I am expecting more than a QP and did not invest anything this time around. That means that if I sell then I would have a 100% profit from my first investment 2 grows ago. So yes it can start out expensive but nothing like having to buy good buds.

With that being said, I'm now wondering what would be better for my purposes. I'm looking to harvest the most amount of bud possible from a small space. I have read about LST and is this method just for small places with low height requirements? Or does this method help produce a larger yield? I've also read about scrog and tbh it does not sound like something I want to try on my first grow considering timing and height placement is a factor. Also I have read soil grows generally can taste a lot better and you can actually influence a really good tasting bud. Would the maintnance level be higher or lower on a soil grow? Also soil would take longer correct? But how much longer? If LST+scrog influence a high yield rate I will consider doing both. But if I were to do either of these methods would it be easier to maintain on a soil or hydroponic setup? I like a hydroponic system because as a noob I'd only have to maintain the nutrients about once a week (depending on my bucket and amount of plants) whereas on a soil system I'd be watering them everyday. Could I build something similar to a hydroponics system with a resorvoir for watering soil plants? So I could be lazy if need be? Because I'm really attracted to DWC for low maintnance but I'm also attracted to soil for the taste purposes. I smoke because of personal enjoyment, I love the way buds feel, look, and taste. Yes, the high is great too, but the other factors play a huge roll for me.

well most of the time with soil you do not water every day if fact this is where a lot of people when they first start growing have problems because they water to much. I water every 3-5 days or when the soil feels dry and when they get bigger I just increase as needed. Since you are just starting out I always suggest soil first because if you mess up soil is much more forgiving. And soil doesnt really take that much longer. Lst'ing and scrog are ways of maximizing the amount of colas on a certain number of plants and to keep the canopy all at the same height so its good if you have extra space to fill and you want them to bush out. I would probably do a sea of green in your case if you have room for a mother.

I just had this realization. The sog would be perfect. Someone had mentioned this a few comments back. Would anyone know from seed-harvest aprx how long it would take? I would be doing clones afterwards to speed up the process.:fire:

if your gonna do a sog, then just go 12/12 from seed (maybe give em lie 20/4 for a week to boost em up)under an hps with as many of those little bad boys u can fit under the light(if your trying to speed it up), they wont flower right away but they will asap. the less you veg the smaller the plant=smaller yield, but if your doin sog you are only concerned with the tops which will be fine as long as you can produce thick stems in a short period of time w/ a little bending and a good fan. you can "weed" out the stragglers, retards, and males as they show themselves. just my 2 cents

just an fyi, i got my closet set up w/ a 400w hps and everything for about $500 (includes nutes and soil and pots and everything) so your budget is do-able, might need to spend a bit more tho

Get a 250watt I got 1 off ebay for $155 with a htg air-cooled reflector and 250w ballast and bulb and the hangars(hell of a deal) you might get lucky or you can get all this for about $220 then get a $30 duct booster or $90 valueline inline fan

check out the 250w hps club to see what a 250 can produce

LST will get you higher yields than normally growing it, the taste of the bud matters more on how you dry and cure the bud, nvr used a hydro system but with soil just get some dolomite lime and perlite and nutes and http://www.jacksclassic.com/ I've read these ferts are pretty good Im trying it out on my current grow with hydroponics there alot of things you need to watch out for and a normal grow takes about 3months after you dry and cure it
