White isn't reflective its refractive.

If you use mylar put some on your ceiling too...

I wouldn't build anything over or under a vent unless the thermostat is in that room. Your grow room could be 90 degrees but the hallway or living room, where your thermostat probably is, could be fine and the heat or a/c won't do you any good. Then when it does run it will cause a dramatic temp change in that small of a space... durastic temp swings, not good.

Nothing fancy, just 1 raptor hood and 1 hydrofarm hood with hydrofarm magnetic ballasts on both. Eye Hortilux bulbs for flower and cheap walmart t8 shop lights for veg. I try to create a sea of green with 4 plants to fill a 4x4 area by topping and tying branches - utilizing each node. I usually use pure blend pro for soil and H&G for hydro. Sativied is really the guy whose posts and threads you need to read - his weed iq is off the charts.

I really want to know more about this thread topic though. Is a significant amount of light being lost by not tightly enclosing your space.............

Do you plan on expanding in the future? If yes, stay away from the tents. Unless you find a used one. They limit your space and cost a bunch of money. I have 2 tents that are taking up space, wraped up and stored.
Come up with your "dream set-up" and do it one piece at a time. I have been building in "stages" and keep working for better equipment, one harvest at a time. Always keep in mind what you would like for a end result and build towards that.
Example... I bought a bigger CO2 regulator rather than the small one. All of my hoods can be used side by side and vented together. I am looking at a split seer A/C unit for this summer ect... I just finished building my "dream" room and I wish that I didnt buy 3 tents over the last 4yrs... Also, dont cut into your house unless you have to. It seem like as soon as I cut into my house, I change my ideas and regret making holes in the wall or whatever.

Yes i plan to expand some but cant too much cuz im in a bad state. Id buy a tent off you just saying, for a veg grow. But yea i got a phantom digital with radiant 8' cool tube and hortilux eye bulb hps.

I am confused how I should do my ventilation. Theres a window in the room, and a (i think itsa warm air intake) on the ceiling I didn't know if i could use that. Id rather not drill holes in the walls..my plan is to take the door off and replace it with something that can have a zipper on it.

If you can see the bulb from the sides (usually the case from at least one side with a basic hood) without the view being blocked by plants/leaves you're losing enough light to likely lose weight too. I used to hammer on the issue in these forums, never seen people grow in corners of rooms till I joined international forums.

I don't think it by itself will make the 5 oz difference between 600gr and about a pound, but I do think the difference is large enough to pay back for any material used to box it in and In addition to the reflection, it does offer several other advantages:
- Exhausts capacity should match light + space
- It allows the humid air to be extracted through ducting to a window to outside,, while sucking more dry air out the room itself (air goes from room, closet, outside not molding up the room when you grow in the same space for years)
- Filter more efficiently (closet only)
- You can access the room without disturbing the climate in the closet (seems like a small issue but it's best to keep a closet/tent closed as much as possible, I used to have a mailbox like hole to peak inside without opening the door.)
- You can add a filter to the intake to prevent dust, pet hairs, bugs, etc from entering the closet and sticking to buds.

- If you're in a corner already, you only need two walls
