How to KILL POLLEN? Spray plants with Bleach?

So, I am in week SEVEN, yeah, 7, and apparently I have screwed up a crop with pollen.

It's a 9 week strain and I just started noticing seeds started. SUCKS!!! 2lbs wasted to seed, I am hoping I at least get some fucking seeds out of it, it seems a little late to be pollenated, damn it. FUCK!

O.k., almost done bitching, anyway, I have another grow which started in the same grow room September 26th, they just started white hairs.

Do you think it's too late for them too?!

If not, how strong can I spray them down with diluted bleach? I have heard people spraying their plants with bleach for mites... I have not done this.

Is it safe to spray the plants with diluted bleach? If so, how heavy has someone tried it without killing them?

Yes, I know they have already been pollinated, what I am worried about is either the 10 day old plants that I just put in there i.e. "another grow which started in the same grow room September 26th, they just started white hairs", so I want to kill any pollen in the room before those get pollinated, OR, just throw them away and put some new clones in there.

Either of the two seceneriors, I obviously wanna finish my plants that are pollinated but I don't wanna pollinate anything else.

no you cannot spray them with bleach, at any concentration, for pollen.

it would be beyond pointless, any pollen on them is either in an area of no concern or already inside a pistel.

but ummmm, if your noticing seeds now, it means they got pollenated like 3-4 weeks ago, and you didnt say anything about finding a male you missed. so im assuming its still in there pollenating your plants with every gentle breeze.

if you found it back when and are still dealing with the leftover pollen, buy a commercial air filter wal-murt with hepa filter, that should stop some of it, maybe.

If you have seeds; it's too late to remove the pollen, and It dies after a few days anyhow.

And for future reference water kills pollen

It sound like stuck with the results for this crop. I had a plant go hermie on me in my tent. It was near the end of the grow, but it got pollen on everything. I harvested and then set to cleaning the tent with a diluted bleach solution (2 tsp per quart) and then simple green. After that I rinsed it all with just water to get rid of any chemical res. Pollen is gone as the latest crop is totally seedless after a month.

Filtering the air now seems like a futile gesture.

It apparently left over pollen from a male plant I had isolated in another tent in the garage.... 4 months ago. I sprayed the tent down with bleach water, apparently that didn't kill all/any of it.

Obviously these plants are pollinated, what I am concerned with it killing any left over pollen so it doesn't pollinate the plants I put in 10 days ago.

I have heard Water kills pollen, I just have missed some when I watered down the tent with bleach before moving the male plant.. and come to think of it, there was some cardboard left in the text that I moved out about 3-4 weeks ago, thats probably what re-pollinated everything.

None the less I am not worried about what caused it, more to prevent future occurrences.

I sprayed them down (the 7 week old pollinated ones) and some new ones I just put beside the others (pre pistils), with anti fungal spray on Sep 30th.

Water does not kill pollen.

It's a water world out there...... pollen would be quite ineffective if it all died everytime it rained.

In the end you have happy plants..... they have completed their mission in life. Your bud won't be so bad as you think. Cheer up.... because you are stuck with it.

What does that won't kill my plant.

Nothing.... you are stuck. Bleach or chlorine will truly disinfect your grow area, but once pollen hits the female flower bud.... that's it.... endgame there.

Just do a real good scrub down before your next grow.

O.k. to reiterate, I already know the plant is pollinated, thats a given.

Senerio:

4x4 = 7 weeks old pollinated plants.
4x4 = 10 days old, pollinated? Not sure. How do I sterilize the pollen before the new plants get pollinated.

I am concerned that the plants that are 7 weeks still have pollen on them which will infect my 10 day old plants.

I have 30 other fresh clones which have yet to be thrown into flower, if there are any concerns of the 10 day old plants being pollinated, then I can throw those away.

I want to finish the pollinated plants and they will utilize the same grow tent as the fresh clones.

All you can do is clean your area. It is impossible to remove pollen from plants.

As soon as your plants put out "hairs" , they can be instantly pollinated. nature is that fast (for a reason, it's a tough planet out there).

So if your clones haven't put out flowers yet, no worries.

You can "wash" the clones and it will clean your plants of pollen, but it won't kill the pollen. I'd suggest setting up a tub and putting a couple pieces of wood across the tub (2X4's) and washing the plants over the tub to catch the runoff. then dump that stuff outside away from the garage. Or pour it down a drain.

Aww ok cool. I guess I will have to decide wtf I wanna do with these pollinated plants then.

u can continue to flower with them and still get a lil bud..?

They aren't going to turn into garbage..... not at all. Just enjoy them. It's still a gift.

dude i had a male plant in one room and the females ina different room and i still got a seed or two. i read that a male plant can pollinate a female up to a mile away. scrub scrub scrub start over. best way to battle the males is to chop them down before those sacks open

Yeah, these were actually in a 3x2 cabinet 4 months ago. I grew 2 female plants in with it, and chopped the male down as soon as I saw pollen.

Do you think 10 day old plants that just started seeing pistils are already screwed?

Yeah, I hear yeah, I am more worried about my next batch now then this one, I will finish them, just don't know if I should wait for them to completely finish before I start anything else.

when i find a male i spray it with neem oil before i remove it in hopes that the weight of the oil will prevent the pollen from being dispursed.
