It will be very tough to hide a grow from roomates and if you can pull it off I would say that is a successful stealth grow for sure. If they can't figure it out and it's right under their nose then it will be very hard for anybody else to find it, but your already having troubles with step 1. Hopefully it's really roomates and not parents because parents can sometimes blow things out of proportion and you can get in big trouble even though they mean well.
Get a book on gardening and learn how to grow something else and do it, then you have an excuse for neeeding the soil if they ask.

How far you live from home? Say your mom wanted you to get it since you're stronger than her, then you didn't feel like going all the way over there so you brought them in so they didn't get stolen until you took them to her.

We have read it. You need to have better foresight.
He is enganged in illegal activity and if anything can be tied to his outdoor grow with anything in his shared residence, the roommates will be effected as well.

Eh. Your roommate would have to have the absolute worst lawyer in the world for anything to stick/get them in trouble.
Then again, college campuses do as they please so if it's a dorm mate then I'd for sure advise against even growing outside... Still the roommate could always argue ignorance.

I was thinking more along the lines of them all being evicted. An eviction effects everyone in the residence.
I have a feeling he doesn't have roommates and it is his parents. I smell the stink of pubescent bullshit. If this is the case, then the parents could go to prison because of it.
No matter what severity the punishment would be if he got caught, it will still effect people around him in a negative way.
