I have a closet grow and the temp is 27 degrees with the lights on but the humidity is just below 20%, ive been and bought one of these http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4250344/Trail/searchtext>HUMIDIFIER.htm and have put it outside the closet with the closet door just slightly ajar and its got it up to 27%. In the instructions for the humidifier it says not to put it closer than 2 metres from electricals, i dont know much about electrics but i know it dont go well with water . However the mist it sprays out is very very fine doesnt even feel moist just cool. How close can i get this to the closet safely or can i get it pretty much inside . Its only a small closet with 12 20watt cfls in .Unless theres an easier way to get the humidity up ?? , ive tried a damp towel hanging but doesnt really do much but this humidifier seems to be the way forward , i just dont wanna go bang :)

Any ideas?

Put it in the closet and adjust till you get the humidity levels you want. Make sure air is circulating in the room and don't aim it directly at the lights or power supply. I have a Similar unit in my closet grow.

Other than roooting clones, I think lower humidity is a blessing. First the plant dries quicker so the roots get more oxygen. The plant aslo transpires faster so nutrient uptake is increased.

I cant get it in the closet as its to big but its now directly outside and it sprays upwards so its not spraying into closet directly on cfl`s , the humidty is now 31% but the temp has dropped to 26 degrees, ill see how it goes for a while like this .. thx for your advice :)
