No. OCBC gives you a "growers permit" when you get your card there, but the truth is that it is just a piece of paper. The only permit you need is your doctors recommendation.
My lawyer said something to me about if I were to grow in another county I should get a state issued medical cannabis card. I believe this might allow you to increase your plant limit to 99 plants anywhere in the state, but I don't know that for sure. Since I live in a county with a specific "no plant limit" law, I'm allowed to do 99 plants with just a doctors rec, so I didn't look into the state issued card. But that's worth asking a lawyer about.

The rule now is that if your doctor says you can have 99 plants, then you're allowed to have 99 plants and no city/county law can supersede a doctors orders. This I'm 100% positive of. (Kelly decision)

Im glad you brought this to my attention. If i feel the 6-12 limit imposed by my doctor is not enough....how would one go about raising the limit?

I grow in soil and have been accidentally watering with ph balanced water at 6.0. I must have confused with hydro ph (6.0) with soil ph (6.5) after looking at charts i may have been locking out cal/mag. i do show signs of magnesium def in some spots...plants are 3 weeks into flower and are still looking great. how would you go about fixing this?
i am thinking of flushing with ph balanced water (6.5) to rid of any salt buildups. do you think i should just keep trucking along and change ph to 6.5 rather than 6.0? i dont think this is a big deal but it explains some leaf deformations etc.

Did your doctor say 6-12 plant limit? Ask your doctor how many plants you can grow. If he says 99 then you can grow 99. And yes, him verbally saying that is legal permission for you to grow 99 plants regardless of if it is in writing or not.

PH your water to 6.5 and feed plants that show this deficiency Sea Mag (Humboldt nutrients). Sea Mag is chelated and has no calcium in it. This allows for the highest possible plant up take of magnesium. Rarely plants will slightly lockout magnesium if you are giving it to them in some form of combined calcium/magnesium if the plants have had enough magnesium.
So yeah, properly ph'd water and Sea Mag should do the trick. Although some times my well water comes out ~ph6 and I've never had a nutrient lockout issue with it.
Well you'll never hurt yourself by flushing. I'd flush and do a full strength does of Sea Mag in ph 6.5 water.

Verbal permission from a doctor, yes. My lawyer specifically said this. One would prove this by calling the doctor to the stand. (more likely, the DA/police would call the doctor and if the doctor says 99 plants then the DA would drop the case due to the precedence set in the Kelly decision)
If you can get the doctor to put 99 plants on your rec that'd save you a considerable amount of money on lawyers fees if you ever got raided.

I am trying to become a vendor part time but have no idea were to start. What would be the first step in becoming a vendor? Is there a minimum you have to provide and how often? Getting started sucks. Most of the clubs that treat vendors well already have a full list of vendors and don't have any use for new ones.
When I got started I went to ~30 different clubs before I even sold anything. Almost every club tried to jerk me around or low ball me. Just start walking into random clubs and bring your shit into clubs until someone buys your stuff. Eventually, someone will.
Also go to every cannabis cup, hemp expo, etc. Bring a bunch of your shit. Smoke out every club owner and product buyer who will try your stuff out. That works really well.
When walking into a club make sure you ask to talk to the buyer. Don't just start showing your stuff or giving out samples to every club employee. Many club employees will jerk you around. They'll pretend to examine what you have, ask for samples, then say leave a # and they'll call you. But they'll just smoke your shit and then deny ever speaking to you. So make sure that you're talking to someone with buying authority. Ask for their business card.
Also when selling your shit to a club always be prepared to walk away if they are offering you a shitty deal or you feel like things aren't going well. Once you're there talking to a buyer it can be intimidating at first. They'll play into that if they smell any desperation on you. You always have to remember that there are thousands of clubs in california and just because you are negotiating doesn't mean you have to sell.
If you are being offered a shitty deal, just say "no thank you, I need to get going now". Always be polite, you may want to sell them something else in the future, you never know.
Most clubs won't fuck with anything less than a pound. Some smaller shops might take QP's. But really want you want is to have a pound of the same strain. Most clubs will at least take a look at a pound from a walk in first time vendor.

If you're talking about using multiple doctors recommendation at one spot in order to increase your limit you should really talk to a lawyer before you do it. There is a right way and a wrong way to do that sort of thing. Different counties play by different rules so make sure you talk to a local prop 215 lawyer.

At least that's how much it cost me for the consult with my lawyer about this. A collective agreement is free. Ask the lawyer to email you one and then just swap out the name of the collective on the agreement with your own collective name and then you are a collective. No paperwork needs to be filed with the state, there are no permits needed as long as nothing is being officially sold.

hey great info dan, im a fellow prop215 patient and i have been wondering the same thing for a while now.. i want to start my own delievery service here in the near future, so this is all i need to do is just find some membership agreements and have every new patient sign it??

If you're going to be doing a delivery service you should form a corporation. It's not that hard, but you definitely need a lawyer for this. Your going to need to form a mutual benefit non-profit corporation, get your tax ID #, and sellers permit. These things are all done through the state. You want a corporate lawyer to do this for you (not a prop 215 criminal lawyer or it'll be really expensive). This process cost me $1200 and only took 2 weeks. The lawyer did everything for that price.
Try to get the lawyer to use his address as the business address when requesting a name and filing your articles of incorporation
Could save you unwanted government attention. Do that and boom! you're now a delivery service!
There is a way to do this without forming a corporation. I've seen it done before, but I don't think it's 100% legal. It could potentially get you unwanted attention from authorities. Instead of forming a MB non-profit corporation some people form a mutual benefit non-profit association. I don't recommend this, but people do it.

So would you suggest walking in with an ounce on me for the first time walking into a new club or even to an event such as the hemp expo? and then If they are interested bring back the real weight? Im thinking about growing some quality OG, What other strains do the dispensaries like? Is it worth vending oils, waxs, budders etc..? Again, thank you for all of your help.
