what do i dress like to fit in? my attitude is ok but i want people to take me seriously. so loafers with grey pants and a blue shirt work? can someone help me out? budget is sorta an issue i can go for one expensive item

So long as not jeans, and if the shirt buttons, i think you're on the right track. These are also fortunately the kind of clothes well-represented at e.g. Goodwill shops. cn

you shouldnt have to fit in. you should be yourself. dont try and be what others want you to be like or what you feel like you have to be like there is no specific way to look. just wear clothes that are presentable and that are comfortable for you. nothing is worst than uncomfortable clothes.

I'm operating on the assumption that Silas means "what clothes will make me look more professional?" Imo "fitting in" is of importance in a work setting. cn

i just want to fit in with the people who dress a little more like they have their lives together. it doesnt ake you who you are but if i were to dress like a was a millionaire then rolling down the street wouldnt be like it is now

The Emperor has some new clothes you might want to check out.

If money the issue then I would go for a more casual look, at least then you can wear it for work or play

I think you'll be suprised how many doors open for you if you appear like you have your shit together. I've been a house painter for 17 years, with a break for 5 years (during business hours) working in the insurance industry. My co-workers (painters)and I have always talked about the way people look at and treat us when we're in our painters whites. They look at us like we're up to something and untrustworthy, we call it the "scum bag painter look." Women look away, kids snicker, and it just always feels like people look down at you. During the years of working in a professional industry, and wearing a sport coat and tie, or a full on suit, driving a nice car, looking the part....it's amazing how different I was treated. Like night and day.

I'm painting now, and wish every day that I can go back to wearing a tie again. I think I'm going to....so I get what you're talking about bud.

I always wear either cargo shorts or blue jeans, cross trainers and mostly bblack t shirts. Dressing up for me is wearing a polo or button up shirt.

My only advice is do not under any circumstances look in a magazine, I like to look good, as do most people I'm sure, but the shit these so called models wear is fucking ridiculous IMO.

depending on what style you have, and your body weight is a factor, do you want to look casual , fashionably casual? , professional casual? ect ect

casual is what most dress like in todays society, unless funerals, weddings ect, most people do not dress in full suits everyday except maybe business men

How true...one of my pet peeves, is that there's no real "fashion" for men, not to say I'm into dressing up, but it would be nice if I had a bit more of a choice....maybe a nice kilt perhaps
