Help do you work out the cost of your grow.

Ok I'm not very good at maths , that's easy to most people ,not for me, but then I can Build walls find solutions to 80% of building problems and can build extensions without a problem. Mosy cant .Trying to work this out is not computing..

Can anyone help me work out the cost I have spent so far on my electricity?

Checked Google but still can't figure it out.

Apparently on my wattage meter I have used a total of 171kwh and I pay 26.32p a watt..

What's the cost I have used?

If someone can make me understand..

For ex I was supposed to pay 100$ from last grow… I unplugged everything to take clones and perpetuate so it was quiet for a while nothing was on and the bill still went up, fustrating.

Yea even if I knew exactly what I used it doesnt match. Roomates said we will just compare to years before I started growing and pay the difference.

It seemed right at first but then I used less power and saw no difference. Its on going so I commented to watch for answers.

So far it feels like Im going to pay more than I feel is right and will only save half of what I spend now at store during summer. Rates double or tripple.

I do chores to lessen it, its been helping and now theyre used to it, maybe I can ask for a raise lol.

Consumables for a grow I did a few years ago $200 and 12 zips. Not equipment cost just seeds, coco, Jacks 321, 4 rockwool cubes, 4 grow bags, electricity (400w led. fans about 6kw a day)and h2o. It would be more now and equipment should be amortized so I think 250 to 300 a grow now. :hump:

It you knew the kwh you used and compare to the kwh overall and divided the bill by the kwh, times it by your kwh used it would be correct right?

Idk something simple as that yet I keep getting told it don’t work like that. I was starting to read what they meant as I tried finding other ways to break it down.

Edit this jogged my memory, trippin a little bit realizing its like 2-3 months of the year with high rates but it comes in tiers and because mines pushing it to the next tier I pay more. Just one example.

you can't put a price on homegrown, no money in the hands of criminals, pure organic weed. not the answer you wanted i know. but those meters, you program in the price you pay for electricity, ittells you how much your spending as you go along

Fustrating. All this labor id want to pay just for what I used. They wont even entertain the idea of logging the electricity used. OP I guess it depends if you split bills with room mates which can become a mess. I guess I just pay for whatever they say.

Looking at a years worth of bills with and without growing I dont see any correlation. This is my least favorite part of growing if Ill be honest. To put context I became hooked on dabbing only, growing weed isnt that expensive, its the rosin demand.

But even if you pay double the electricity you still have a gram for less than a 1$ why are you crying

I know, Im trippin a little bit its just hard topic to go over with room mates. Say you spend 300 to meet the goal of saving most of it but end up paying 1/2 that anyway plus labor..

We dont know what we are doing yet, compare to months I didnt grow or just pay half and be happy I can grow, fair enough its true.

It could easily be 50$ more or less. Summer time will be crazy, an extra $100 as companies deal with demand of AC. Its whatever, growing is the happiest hobby Ive gotten into I just get greedy.

tbh I love growing sooo much and it keeps me busy and not doing bad things the cost for the grow is my main focus and hobby so at end of day a good example like many hobbies is everyone can be a fisherman right ? some have crazy priced poles , accessory, to boats , it’s just the budget and ur will and budget that make or break the hobby’s limits .

I get it , costs. But people also before dissing price of bud. It’s a lot of cost and time to produce good bud And that’s it

Your rate is 26.32p per KwH, not per watt.

26.32*171=4500.72p
