yeah this is the stuff I'm looking into right now. I have some experience with gas jobs like 2 inch to 5 inch lines. I was thinking something similar but know that pumping water isn't hard it's the distance and even more so the head or height you have to worry about.

So with that in mind I'm thinking a smaller 12 volt battery and pump so I can fill my 2 littre bottles quickly and then backpack em.

I guess everyone is in a diff situation. I just posted my idea cause in my situation a don't want to be at the water source for any longer than I need to. If i could put my pump in a tree at the source and get it straight up say 15-20 feet it would go the rest on it's own.

yea i hear ya on that, its almost easier just packing it in, then you have to conceal all your lines, pump ext. i think im going to go to kmart they have a little hand help battery operated pump that would work perfect for filling up bottles quik.

They do? sweet. I was just on the phone with my old man. He figured a bilge pump from a boat might be cheap and do the trick, they pupm water up at least 2-3 feet on 12 volt batt. Shit I could fill bottles by hand I just don't feel like getting muddy over and over again. or more importantly seen, it's fairly low risk but still risk.

Found this at RONA looks interesting. My dad builds pulling truck and toys with cordless drill motors ,so I could probably get setup with a good lithium battery or two and motor.

Drill Pump WOLFCRAFT 200 ga/h. Drill pump uses standard garden hose. Pumps water, oil and other liquids with your electric drill as a power source. Compact product pumps is self-priming to 8-10 feet with pressure to 25 psi. $18.99
