How to clean reservoir?

I typically wait until a run is finished then scrub of any scale, rinse the rocks, reassemble, then run bleach though the system for 24 hours. Drain and refill and run it again for 24 and she's ready to go. Or if I'm just swapping out lids I don't clean anything until season ends.

Weekly-
I always have a second Rez clean and ready for each change.
After I change my Rez I clean the old one in the bathtub with plain warm water and a bit of dish soap.
With a Good rinse and I'm done. Ready for next weeks Rez change.

Between harvest-
everything gets completely stieralized as normal.

All of the suggestions above are good too.

I'd probably use an old broom with short or stiff bristles to scrub my 55 gallon drum if I had to. I generally only store freshwater in there and then draw from it to a 5 gallon bucket to add nutrients. It keeps the drum clean and if I ever need emergency water I have it.
