How to amend/prep native soil to plant lime tree /los ángeles

So I’d like to plant a lime tree I have in a pot ,
How would I go about amending the clay
soil ?

I have Kellogg citrus mix , some spaghnum peat moss and a bit of citrus tone .. do I mix 1/3 of each and use tht for planting?

What about some Malibu compost?

i was thinking of also adding a bit of medium bark pieces at the bottom of the hole for drainage & cover with the amended native soil

I would say dig a hole and fill with new container mix already doing well in. Will allow to gradually be acclimatized to native soils.

And just thoughts as an owner of 2 potted lemons in MI. One being 8+ feet. I wish you success.

Alright cool well I got some Kellogg citrus soil , so I don’t even gotta mix it with the native like 50/50

i think I’ll betaking a pick axe to the side walls and cracking them open so the roots have an easier time shooting out it’s some pretty hard clay
