If they are a few weeks old and a foot tall like you said then I dont see anything wrong with putting them outside. You did good, they are much more likely to make it once they have sprouted a few sets of leaves prior to being placed outside. There really isnt any rule about starting them outside. Obvioulsy when you begin them indoors you can control the environment a lot better ensuring a higher germination rate.

Oh I think I misread your post. I thought I saw that they were a foot tall. But as long as they have sprouted your good to go. But it is best to wait a few weeks to get them going strong, then release them to the outdoors.

ok thanks for the advice i think im going to give them a little more time and put some more wind on them with fans to build them up.what do you think about the direct sunlight though?would it be the same a direct light from my indoor light?

The sun is a very poweful light source. Its common to "harden off" your plants when switching a plant that was grown indoors to outdoors. You introduce it to sunlight for a few hours a day for about a week. But thats not always an option. They should do fine after a short period of shock from the change in environment.
