How old are clones? When's there B-day?

Okay I've had this question for awhile now Hopefully I can get it across. When do you start counting a clones age. Is if from the day it is cut from the mother plant. The day roots are sprouted, or the day it's removed from the cloner and placed into a grow room?

I always count the day its cut and goes into it cube as clone day 1 then takes 3-5 days for roots to po and when its planted is day 1 of veg

3-5 days for roots to show... thats amazing, it takes me like 7 days till i see roots, and 12 b4 they have enough root ball to transplant.. FF do you have any threads/posts on how you clone? maybe i can learn something... TY.

3-5 days 12 days Wat's the secret, I took my last cuttings on 2-11-08 and they didn't have roots out of the 1" rockwool cube until 2-28-08 that's 17days for the first roots to appear on 2 out of 9 of the clones. I took another 4 days for four more to grow roots out of the cube that's 21 days for 6 out of 9 clones. I wounder if its the cloning method or plant genetics that determines how long it takes a clone to develope roots.

it has a lot to do with genetics, some are faster than others and harder than others. using a quality rooting hormone, underneath heating and plenty of air in the growing medium will give your a fighting chance of getting roots earlier. also lower levels of light will give you a better chance of them finally rooting as it slows their metabolism, but this can actually slow the rooting process down a little so find the right balance for your plant. the amount of light a plant will do best on will usually vary a lot even in breeds

about the age thing, i always count my clones age's from when the original first sprout. that's the biological age. i have a plant that has been with me for over 4 years although its been cloned many times to give me the ones i have now. i wouldn't ever need to count from when it was rooted or cut. i only start counting the day after i put them into 12/12

also i hear you want to keep the RW lightly moist and not wet. i heard wet RW can impede root growth tremendously and it can also cause root rot. i also heard that you dont want to squeeze out RW with your fingers because it does something to the air space. if you need to take water out you should hold it, without squeezing it, and shake/flick it into a tub/container to remove the water. ya, try that... hope that helped, peace
