How often do you guys water during flowering, especially when buds are forming getting fatter etc ?

2 schools of thought here, soil thats been bottle fed for awhile pretty much inert at this point.Coco inert from the start.
So feed them twice a day to a good runoff, runoff is the key 20%.Feed low with frequent feedings.
Now this only works with pots that are full of roots,no fear of over watering then.

You need to go off weight or looks of your plant there is too many variables. Also depends how long the plant was vegged for because more roots=more water. My one girl that just finished out was drinking 4.5L every 12 hours or she got pissed.
lmao damn what size gallon pot was she in ?

Yo i'll def try that. The run off thing so it wont settle too much in and mess up the PH right?

3 gal. Got vegged a bit long timing didn't work out quite right.
You think its smarter to top a plant that is in a bigger pot really early in veg so it wont get too tall and it would just grow big fat buds? Is this just a theory im saying or is it true ? Idk i just thought about it

Are you growing in soil or coco? because that will make a huge difference. The person telling you to run plain water through, if it's soil maybe thats right, if it's coco that is dead wrong.

Oh ok, I grow in coco so probably can't be much help.

I just wanted to make sure cuz I *often* see people's suggestions to be to flush or run plain water through without asking what grow medium. I'm sure it's fine in soil, but if the OP of a thread (this topic has come up frequently) is using coco then running plain water through it will ruin it (well it will displace all of the Ca and Mg from the CESs with K and Na and you will have ca or mg deficiencies).

But none of this is relavant to you or this thread lol. In case you are curious I water AT LEAST once a day, but again I am growing in coco where with a properly dialed in auto drip feed system you can feed them 3-5 times a day. I don't know how bad it is to let SOIL dry out (but letting coco dry right out will lead to salt recrystallization and therefore buildup).

I mean. If its in a 3 gallon, root bound +100 degree heat, 10% humidity and fires everywhere......

Oh wait a minute that was one of my plants this summer and still it didn't need water more than once every 18 hrs. At the most.

Most of the time 2 to 3 days.
Where you in coco? I’m a soil guy but I have seen coco guys that need to water everyday sometimes more than once a day

Soil should dry out to an extent

Oh I should add the one thing I know about soil is that unlike coco you can alternate watering and fertigating. So for example you can give them just water, water, fert, water, water, fert repeat for eg.

In coco you can't (well shouldn't) do that, but in soil if you are seeing burnt tips or signs of burn then it is wise to just feed them just water and to make the pattern of water water fert repeat or water fert water fert repeat throughout the whole grow.

People always seem to go harder on the fertilizer side of things thinking that will provide the plant with more to grow with but from my understanding it's kind of the opposite in that plants want WATER more (MUCH MUCH MORE) then anything else (excluding light). The nutrients will only be effective if the plant is receiving enough water to transpire healthily.

Nah not in coco. I want to see this plant and the container it was in to believe that 9l per day was not drowning his plant.

It must have been in a huge container with every single environmental disadvantage that evaporates and forces the plant to use water. Especially root bound.

My point is for that to be true its would need to be a perfect storm. Not just a flower plant in its final weeks.

20201130_062734[1].jpgPlant filled almost my full 4 by 4 by itself. And don't believe what i fed it like you know anything. Lol because you clearly don't because I know exactly what i was watering daily and i can show you a picture if i missed one watering as well what she looked like if you would like.

20200903_011751[1].jpgThat is what happened if i missed one watering every 12 hours. Also notice the lack of flowers even at that point. So yea she easily drank 9L a day and she could have probably done more. And humidity was steadily 50-55 raised after lights out for very short amount of time. And i was running a little hot in the high 80s til just recently when it got cooler.
