First time growers should go organic nutes at least for vegging. The reason I state this is because it is very easy to over or under do Nitrogen with synthetics mixes. Use something like the cheap Alasken Fish Emulsions found at most hardware supply stores like Lowes or Home Depot. Don't be fooled by the low numbers, this stuff is greatly absorbed by the plant and when right they will become huge and shinny green. This stuff won't kill your plants if you over do it. Go by the directions and use about 1 tbls per gallon. I've been using it every watering. Also use the cheap Western States B1 to promote good root/stem structure. You can use the synthetics when flowering because the other two elements are harder to over use, but still don't over do it. Also, expect the plant roots to get pretty big. They get almost as big as the plant gets.
