I'm only going to have 2-3 plants in my tent at a time,do I need to get all of these different things for only 2-3 plants? I'm just wondering how much do I need for this...

it doesn't matter how many plants you have, or what method you use to grow them, you need what you need. the only difference is you'll need more of it as you grow more plants.
if you are interested in organic growing, go to the organics section and read all the stickies, and search for building threads (soil building).
you'll find all the info you need to build a good soil that will take very little maintenance

it's like baking a cake. gotta have all the ingredients in the right proportions for it to turn out right. ROLS thread, first 20 pages or so should give you lots of good reading and good recipes.
