since 1900 the worlds population has doubled twice. with the doubling time at around 40 to 60 years and a population of over 6 billion people now how long can this go on?

humans are the only species on earth that have exponential population growth.

what does everybody think about this?

who thinks half of us are going to get wiped out by a pandemic
Um, no we're not. You're leaving out microbes who have that shit DOWN.

In any event, it can't go on for very long. What I'd like to know, though, is why people seem to think that we're NOT a part of the natural way of things. I think we are, myself, and I see us as animals just like the others.

P.S. Some of us have tails.

Sex results in babies, Humans are the only creatures I know of who have sex for enjoyment rather than to reproduce.
There are many other animals, including primates, who have sex for enjoyment and also to solidify bonds and alliances. Look to bonobos, for instance. Also, there are other animals that can and do breed year-round, they are called "opportunistic breeders", meaning that they don't have seasons for mating and reproduction. Cockatiels are one such animal.

For fuck's sake. Who can guess whether or not I read the whole thread before putting that up? Now y'all know that a bonobo is a smaller "version" of a chimp and that they bump uglies all day long. ALL DAY LONG!

considering a few have already mentioned bonobos and dolphins (hell i posted a pic of two female bonobos rubbing their naughty bits together) i'm guessing - no you didn't read the whole thread (not that i can blame you for that)!
