How much lollipopping is too much at once?

My plants have grown so big that I'm getting a feeling that about 75% of them should be lollipopped to avoid getting popcorn.

Will be flipping in few days, so I'd like to have some suggestions about how much can be taken at once without making them stress too much?

Commonly people say not more than 25% at once, but how do you define once? If 25% today and 25% tomorrow, then does it count as not more than 25% at once or should I wait for few more days before taking again?
