Call your elec company and ask what your rate is per killowatt hour. You are paying twice that for every hour your lights are on.

Paying twice that??why twice??im on a night saver tariff where i pay half the price per kilowatt at night time,and i think the meter is a bit fukt cuz were paying night time price 24hrs,so i wana take it while its hot.I understand that these lights are more hardcore then yer usual 40watt bulb,so is this why i should be paying twice??

If you are using 2000 watts and your company charges .25 per kilowatt hour you will be paying .50 per hour to run 2000 watts of light. Multiply that with how many hours you will be running your lights. That is the approximate cost.

A Kilowatt hour is 1000Watts used in 60 minutes. As you'd be running 2 X 1000Watt systems you would be pulling 2khw for every 1 hour your running both lights. Thats why they say you'd be paying twice, not anything to do with the bulb being hardcore.

I guess I should have explained better. A kilowatt is 1000 hours, like a kilogram is 1000 grams. So they charge by the kilowatt hour, meaning for each hour you use 1000 watts. Since you are using 2000 watts, or 2 kilowatts, you are paying twice the kilowatt hour rate for every hour you have your 2000w lights on.
