At the inital stage when you have those small seedling should you water daily. I am referring to when you have them in small solo cups? Should you water just the center of the cup where the plants is or really water all the surround soil till it drains out the bottom a bit. Or rather should you just mist the area arount the plant a bit. I hear most newbies overwater and cause disaster! So I am wondering what is the proper technique. When do you slow the daily watering and start lettting the soils mix dry out. I imagine watering every other day or less? Please give me some insight as to how you more experienced water and how often.

When it's a seedling you should just keep it moist. It's not advisable to water it too often and too much. When it becomes bigger you can start giving it more water, so just water by the size and needs for the plant. Overwatering occurs by watering to often, so you'll just have to see how quickly your soil dry's out and water according to that. Hope it helps.

over watering is a common error. aberation sounds dead on.... whatever looks moist and then maintain it that way

keep the soil moist at all time when you are working with a seedling but it is also easy to over water small containers. Good drainage helps!bongsmilie
