How much cmf for filter?

Hi i have a small set up in my closet for a single northern lights plant and i was curious if a diy filter with activated carbon for a fish aquarium on it would do the trick for smell if it was set up with a 4inch 100cmg inline booster fan or if i would need one of the noisier 200-400cmf fans. Other then that i was looking at getting a ona gel tub. Any advise would we great. One other thing is ona gel or ona block better if they are not pro series.

I keep a jug of the ONA gel but I also use proper carbon filters. If smell is a concern of yours it is wise to spend the money on a good extraction fan and a filter. I use a small 4in vortex type fan and the Can 1500 carbon filter and it works for a couple nice sized plants.
