How many watts do plants need in every step of the process?

Hey guys,

I've recently put together a 4x4 tent with 6 5gal pots inside. I'm growing fat banana automatic which is one of my favorite auto strains.

I will be using a 600watts hps light that I can regulate to + or - watts if I want to.

My question is: My seeds are germinating now, but when they're ready, should I just put them into the pot and turn on the light at 600 watts right away or can they grow equally with fewer watts in this early stage? I read somewhere that plants don't need the same light potency in every phase of the process... is this accurate?

Never dim HPS bulbs unless you must for extreme high temps 82+ °F or 28+ °C. Run it at 100% or 0%. Trust me it will effect lifespan and performance a lot. Changing your light spectrum will occur with each different wattage and can greatly effect the performance of the light.

Not to mention the constant change in light spectrum is going to trip and stress your plant out.
 
You need a T5 or LED, I use a 2 bulb T5 w/ LED bulbs but you could get away with a single bar light. I would never go straight into a 600w

he’s not using a RR or RW

paper towel > beer cup > 1 gal > 5
 
so every experienced grower transplants their plants?

I've been reading a lot and watching a whole lot of videos and a lot of people say it's ok to even germinate seeds in their final pot... you guys don't agree with this?

Going into a large pot makes controlling the watering difficult for most
It can be done but being proficient at transplanting without stress is a part of the process
I was only suggesting it so you don’t wonder why you are getting such slow growth in a five gallon
Good luck either way
