how many plants should i start

i just bought the 6 planter SH bubbleponics. yes i know i could have built it alot cheaper but i am a complete newbie. well due to the space im wondering if i should start with just 3 plants except for 6. there about 2 inches side byside so im thinkin of just doing a v pattern. any advice would be awesome.

I might start with 2 and build a cheep set-up once I master soil grow then I'm gona try 1 plant in hydro
