How many plants could i do?

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new here but I have been browsing the forum for about 2 months. I am going to Amsterdam next month and plan on picking up some seeds while there. The setup I would like to go with is a drip system for the mother and clones and an ebb and flow for flowering. The room I have for flowering is 4.75' x 5.5'. The height of the room is like 8' so its not a problem. I am wondering how many plants I could flower in a room this size. I figure I could easily put a 4'x4' tray in there. Thanks in advance for any responses.

It depends on what grow method you decide to run with. eg. SoG, or SCRoG...

Well I would like to harvest every 2 months. Also keep in mind I have only one dirt grow under my belt so I am a total noob but I have read up on my shit through this and other forums so I have a little bit of knowledge. For my clone (and mother) room I am using a closet that is about 2' x 4.5'. This room has plenty of ventilation because I will leave the door open 99% of the time. I have (and please tell me if this isn't good) a 70 watt 2 bulb fluorescent fixture with 2 40 watt fluorescent grow lights ( will 2 40 watt lights be ok in a 70 watt fixture). I plan on using the drip method for this room but I would love to do anything easier if you advise. For my flower room I have room enough for the 4' x 4' tray with a 250 watt hps light. I will be grabbing at least another 400 watt metal halide by the end of my first grow. So this is pretty much it.

I have seriously fallen in love with this forum over the past few weeks and really look forward to the the support you guys give out here. I will be posting some pics when I get started. Also I have never been to Amsterdam before and would love some advice but Ill save that for another thread. Thanks again folks.

IMHO a 250w HPS won't be enough light to cover a 4'x4' (16sq.ft.)garden and get good results. I am setting up my flowering atm and i will be using a 400w hps for a garden half that size(approx 8sq.ft.).

Dont bother with the 400 watt mh if you can only get 1 light get a 400 watt hps you can use it for veg and flower if needed and is the best for the flowering stage. A 4 x 4 flood and drain table can do maybe 8 plants at max. That will need a 400 watt hps light to flower them. You could use 3 or 4 48 inch florecent shop lights to veg kept on 24 hours or at least 18/6 for 4 weeks after clones are put into the tray. Good luck and good grows

I would use a 600 watt switchable ballast If I had the room for a 4x4 tray.I can run a Mh and HPS with one ballast.Clones and seedlying in the mother closet with florecent till they are 6" and then put them in the tray with MH to veg and switch too Hps in flowering.One ballast and you dont have to move the plants around.A 600 watt puts more lumes on that sq footage than a 400 watt.Well that's my take on it .Peace

Heres a crazy idea, but it would get you a better yield, probably.

your going to have a veg n clone section and a flower section right

well the flower section is 8 foot in height, if you could put a strong enough shelf in, split the room into 2 4 foot high sections, and have 2 400w systems in there.

veg a couple of plants out for each section to be a decent size, then scrog them.

Each section will have a nice carpet of bud

Thanks for all the responses. I don't think I will be able to split the room due to the hydroponic equipment. Can you use one reservoir for this method because I know I cant fit 2. I plan on using my 250 watt hps even when I get the new lamp so should I get another hps lamp? The switchable ballast idea sounds great but I think it may be a little over my head.

Not sure what fuck face gave me a negative rep for saying a 4x 4 table is good for 8 plants but they need to do thier home work a 4x 8 table is safe and good for 16-18 plants giving them optimol room for growth so a 4 x 4 table holds half as many. Now to the jag off who gave me neg rep without a name dont rep what you dont know. 8 foot by 4 tables have been around me for 12 years I have seen all the configuration and have seen the tests done first hand and if your an idiot go ahead jam the table with 20 plants and get a 1/3 the yield I get tired of the dumb asses who know nothing but what they imagaine they think it should do. Be a grown ass man and put your name on the neg reps so people can watch your mistakes that you so strongly feel is right.I have my idea who it is and they will get it right back for asking questions and gettin mad its not what they wanna hear.fag
