Agreed. Heat is definitely a factor, but in my case, I need the heat because my 5x5 tent is in the garage. From what I've been reading, I'm not the only one who doesn't mind a little extra heat during winter months.
I finally broke down and bought a real dehumidifier. Powdery mildew has never been a problem during veg, but it has shown up later in flower. Plants are probably weakened by their natural cycle and more vulnerable to attack. Cranking up the dehumidifier from "comfort" to "continuous" when lights are out is a good preventative measure. Good air flow is also essential.
I've never had an issue but I grow only in the colder months inside, my ventilation is controlled by humidity as well as temp, I typically have to turn on the humidifier

I was looking at epistar and still trying to figure out why cree is 4 or more x the cost for the same wattage. Is there a huge difference in output and efficiency to justify the difference. I'm asking you Olive as I assume you've done the homework, you seem to have a shit load of time on your hands lol.

I have been looking at lm but look at watts first to kind of compare apples to apples and they seem close but yup lots of charts lol. A cree chip here is double what they are in the US so I've been trying to lower the cost of the build. If I was picking A versus B I would think watts would be the starting point wouldn't it?

Well that's exactly what I'm saying. Yes then the 9000 lm would be the better choice. Same wattage more light, I just started comparing and honestly I'm not seeing a huge difference. I'm not saying the Wattage makes them equal but it's where I start the comparison, then look at output.
