how many grams per watt with an l.e.d. setup

ok so im tired of all the bogus claims and counter claims goin on with l.e.d. lighting.

for me personaly i care about 1 thing...grams per watt

so here is my question

How many grams per watt are people pulling off of their l.e.d. lights?

"and im talking actual watts, not some equivilant bulshit"

Or just look at the enormous buds?

hahahaha :joint::peace:

I haven't seen anything smokable or reported on in this forum, grown with L.E.D's. bongsmilie

golddog doesn't read much then, he just posts, the led thread is full of beautiful nugs

just kidding, ish? I dunno, those nugs look awesome, I find it hard to believe somebody hasn't seen ANY smokeable nugs on the INTERNET grown with led

So bobo since you know so much about L.E.D's., what is the expected yield per watt?

Just askin :joint::peace:

asking a general question like how many grams/watt on an led has too many variables.
what type of light/color
soil/hydro/aero
the strain your growing
type of nuts
etc etc etc

or you can get HID and not have to worry.

I know some people who can get 1 gram per watt led.. but thats people over the WEB :)

of course there are too many variables to give an exact number but people have at least an idea with hid

Example "not acurate numbers"

0-.3 grams/watt= newbie

.3-.7 grams/watt=average

.7-1 grams/watt=you know what your doing

I grow with only led. I'm still experimenting and learning, but i still can get close to 1g per watt. And I get similar results to hid with roughly half the watts.

my biggist problem with led grows is this

everybody seems to try to replace their 600 watt hps with a 400 watt led or they replace their 600 watt hps with a 600 watt led which actually only draws something like 400 watts and then they get what i would consider sub par results. All i wanna see is a comparison of x watts of hps vs x watts of led....is that to much to ask.

some of us growers dont have the luxury of space and ventilation, so we are stuck with our little grow box and x amount of wattage whether that wattage come from cfl, hid, or led. So for me it has nothing to do with cost and all about how many grams can be squeezed out of x amount of watts.

Journal with pics and buds weighed?
yes and no. I have a journal with pics but no pics of weight on a scale if that's what youre looking for. I got between 4 and 5 ounces of solid nugs off 2 autos and 1 photoperiod using a 180w led. Beautiful top shelf quality nugs might I add.

my buddy is doing a side by side experiment with an led. he rocks 1000w hps in one room, and he's using and led prototype in another. i don't know the wattage of the led though. he just started it with the led. so he said he'll keep me updated. im doing the t5 experiment vs a 1000w too. i just started that myself too.

That's good. I read your thread, you should have documented it better to prove the LED naysayers wrong. I'm one of them so I'm still kind of waving my bs flag, but good job none the less.

Thanks, I know I half assed my journal, it wasnt intended so much to prove the doubters wrong ad it was for my own documenting and keeping track of things. I started up a new journal this time around but probably not as detailed as some would like. I'm not on a mission like some guys to convince the world one way to grow is better than another, just here to learn and help learn.
