How many can I fit?

I’m trying to do all the strains I have . I don’t really want big ass plants . Just more variety for the space
Honestly the best thing you can do is grow 2 or 3 well and than move on. Trying to cram too much into that tiny space will only cause you problems down the road. What light do you have? When people say they have 1000 watts of LED it usually means they bought an Amazon light that says it is 1000 watts but they never are, usually between 150 and 250. What is the power draw and make/model of your light? I also think trying to grow plants in 1 gallon pots will cause you a ton of headaches and will likely end up root bound. Having 5 or 6 strains of badly grown pot is less use to me than having 2 or 3 well grown ones. Just my 2 cents worth.

Honestly I was thinking of doing the three in the containers they’re in and raising them up to same height as others and flip at the same time no matter the height of the smaller ones . Sort of as filler

Good luck bud. Much of this depends of what you are growing and how. How long you veg is also very important as the smaller the pot the less time you want to veg so you can avoid root issues. It is possible to grow in small pots, just have to do your grow accordingly. @NukaKola likely has more practical experience than I in this so perhaps he can help you with some of the details. The idea of putting 8 to 10 1 gallon pots in that space would not work for me but that doesn't mean it can't work. Currently I have only 1 plant and it takes up my whole 5x5 tent in a 5 gallon pot. I started germinating 4 seeds yesterday to start my next grow and that is all I will be putting in my tent. As I say, it depends mostly on how you do things. Lots of great folks here to help so keep on it. Hope it all works out the way you want

Yeah we’re having two completely different visions. I want to do one of those one day. I also want to do a solo cup challenge but for now I want to see what my options are for this current setup. It can only go uphill from here right. For now I have 3 in one gallon pots and the other three in the solo cups. I’m thinking since they are exactly two weeks apart I’ll flip them both once the younger of the group get to week 3 of veg. So week 5 on the big, well don’t let me get ahead of myself, bigger plants. Raise the smaller ones to same heaight as other pots and throw a trellis net in and see what happens.

Fair enough. Being here in Canada I have a 4 plant limit so for me it is more about maximizing what I can legally do. As I say, I have seen pics of some stuff Nuka posted so he can likely give you some tips. Either way I hope it goes well for you. Throw out some updates when you get moving, good luck bud. :blsmoke::peace:

I'm doing my first grow now in a closet that is exactly 3x3.
I started with 4 plants in 3 gallon pots. Since half turned out male I only have 2 now.
My closet was pretty full at that time and now a few weeks later I see that if I would have kept all 4 in there it would have been a jungle.
Honestly I think it would work but I think my light is what would hold me back.

I prefer doing more smaller plants to reduce veg times and get in more harvests per year as well as run multiple strains. It’s quicker to fill a SCROG screen using more plants obviously. It is also less risky. If you happen to have to cull a plant because it herms you would only lose 5-10% of overall yield instead of 30-50%.

I usually run either 1 gallon pots or 3 gallon pots of straight coco depending on how many plants.

I’m not sure if you’ve done any LST or not but I plan to so I can maintain the craziness. I know it’s gonna get nuts but ima gonna try to keep them on the shorter end. They aren’t gonna have a long veg cycle. 3-5 weeks total.then maybe 2 on the flower end

What size setup are you running ? 2x3 also? What were your yields like per plants .

I’m doing 4 max in 6x6 basically, looks like everyone covered the bases, wanted to say, the user name makes me think you been here before lol.

I did not. The only thing I did was topped them so I assume if I did lst they would have filled out even more horizontally instead of vertically. The light I have is the mars hyrdo ts 1000 and it says its for a 3x3 but to be honest i feel like having 2 of them in there would be better.

I don’t want huge plants . Obviously because of the size tent I have. I’m just looking to grow multiple strains at once and get the feel for everything really. Just seeing if my thoughts can work or if they’re just some wild imagination.

Each tray is 3’x3.5’ with 600w HPS no CO2.

When I pheno hunt I run 20 plants per tray in 1 gallons with no training and usually yield 1 oz per plant which gives me around 1GPW.

When running selected clones I’ll do 8-10 per tray in 3 gallons with a bit longer veg time and some topping/training to yield 2.5-3 oz per plant.

I hear ya, that’s why I said they have the bases covered, I did multiple strains this last time again, shit got crazy, I won’t go over 4 again. It’s not like the first time I over planted too. Years ago I grew in the space you have, I found 3 - 3 gallons worked best when I wanted 3 strains, I went as high as 6 and it was a problem fast. I like bigger plants, my new room was built to accommodate 4 big girls but I have spots for 8 max.

Would using shorter wider grow bags help? Or make any difference? There’s these bags that are about the same height as the one gallons I’m using right now but they’re 10.5” wide. That could make a huge difference right ? @J232
