How long to flush inbetween rez changes?

So I have an aeroflo system and I was wondering how long to run just the RO water in between rez changes before I add the nutes again?
I am running at 1700ppm right now in week 4 of 12/12 and am about to change the rez out.
I don't know how long the plants should go without their food... 24 hours? or just a couple? Please help me out, thanks.
And also should I raise the water level to the highest point to "drown" the roots to get all the salt buildup off?
Much love...

Run it for anywhere from 1/2 day to a full day. I usually do one full day, then add my nutes. But I usually do a flush every other res change. The final flush is the one that makes the most difference anyways.

I rarely flush between changes and when I do, it is for perhaps a couple hours. Im lazy.

1700 ppm seems a tad high for week four of flower.

On water change day I drain and clean it in the morning and refill with ro. Before I go to bed I add the nutes. This routine cleaned up a problem I was having with dour d.:peace:

if you check out the tread how to harvest a pound every 3 weeks by stinkbud he has alot of aero info..i would say if you flush for maybe 2 or 3 days your gonna be good. best of luck

Only problem I have with that is I have lights off during daytime and on at night. That way the meter reader doesnt see the meter spinning off the hook. I really shouldn't worry about it though, it is a legal medical grow, but I just dont like attention - period.

My lights are on from 6 PM til 6 AM. I usually do my day to day stuff at 5 am when I get up for work. Saturday is my res change day. Takes me about four hours to empty, clean, and refill my systems. If I finish early, I will let them run RO for about three hours, look at the resulting PPM, then add nutes accordingly.
