Been looking at tricks some gold getting a little cloudy but still clear but to me look ready was thinking 3 days time to harvest is it tru they need to be in 24 dark before shop ?? And no water ? What is this for in advance please take a look at photos and thanks for your help (first grow)

I'd go at least another week. You don't have to go dark for 24 hours. If it's going to be good it won't matter. But I think it helps. I wouldn't water the day you chop, but don't starve them of it before you do chop.

Darkness for 24 hours or more to increase maturity of trichomes is a myth, won't help.
Yes lots of calyx is quite normal.
And, no one has asked yet so I will... what strain is your plant and how long have you been flowering?
Oh and personally I never water for the last 72 hours...but that is not my grow so you do what you feel is right.

I don't change a thing for watering my drip system runs up to the day I harvest and no problems, they dry a little too quickly if I let them go without water before harvest but I live in a very dry climate.

I use them to automate 2 waterings per day, one when lights come on and one 6 hours later. I was using drippers on 30 minute schedules but they were clogging up slowly so this run I got a timer that you can control in 1 minute increments and removed the drippers and just have 1/4 lines going to the pots. Im in coco and I still need to get in and manually turn the timer on and let it run til I have runoff when I can but this system allows me to be gone for up to a week and not worry too much about things. Best decision I ever made was to set it up no more breaking my back every day watering, and when I want to flush I just put fresh water in the res and press a button. I've even got the res situated with a float valve from the RO filter so that's all automated too.

I literally took a $15 water pump and bought 1/2" and 1/4" irrigation tube at Home Depot, they've got drippers, stakes, whatever just hook it up to the pump and put the pump on a timer. I bought a 1/2" T fitting and ran one hose under my door to the flowering room, the T sits by the door and I ran a big loop around my grow space. There's no way I spent more than $50 for everything and I swap all the irrigation tubing between each harvest.
