How long for females to accept pollen?

I plan on removing selected plant from flower room and pollinating. Ive heard spraying plants with water will render pollen not viable. How long should i keep pollinated plant in quarantine BEFORE spraying with water (to put back to flower room). Basically, how long does it take for pistils to accept pollen?

Immediately, as soon as the pollen comes into contact with those nice white hairs. I would give the plant a few hours, spray it down, let it dry and put it back into the fold. You can always collect some pollen and use an artists paint brush to 'paint' the buds you want to seed instead of the whole plant.

Right on, i take it you have tried this? I am getting ready to pollinate and want to make sure this is not a wasted effort. I have pollinated in the past but only using one males pollen. I am dealing with three separate pollens and want to minimize and rogue seeds. I appreciate your response.

Heads Up is right on the money. If you use a small artist paint brush you can apply the pollen in a nonventilated room (no fans, or A/C) to selected buds on branches. All you have to do then is to mark each branch you pollinate and a way to ID which branch is pollinated with which male. I have used this method many times in the past, it is easy no fail system.

but after you turn on fans and stuff pollen will be spread to undesired plants? cant you spray with water to make pollen not viable?

I personally have never had a problem with it spreading while I do this. The paint brush dabs just the tiniest bit the pistils, but if that is a concern you have then I would wait a few hours and then mist it. Good Luck

i normally seperate for two or three days then spray returning and plants that never left mist them down good at return

when im doing just a branch i dust branch and leave all fans and air movers off for a few days and mist befor fans back on

good luck

Yes I've done the artist brush method and it works well. It's also the most accurate way to pollinate lower branches, those buds won't ever become much of anything so you might as well use them for seed bearing and save your tops for smoking.

just a few points ill do your homework for you

seeds take from 4 to 6 weeks to mature dont chop to early if dealing with one branch chop all but the branch / i alwasys go the max 6 weeks for my seeds some will still be premature/ i was once a two time loser 1...buds nat as potent when makeing seeds energy go towards seeds no all it could be 2...seeds was all premature no good baige green and small no good / i vowed never to be a two time looser again autos same thing 4 to 6 weeks

i like to give pistils a couple eeks after i see first sign of them then dust away after dusted priorty goes to beans not to finish date of plant or when bud finish consider priorty first

always mark stem dusted fans and air movers off for two days mist fans back on wait let nature do its thing in about two weeks pistils that pollen took on will start to turn brown or orange start to die means seed stsrting to grow inside/ now just wait let bud dry collect seeds dry a few days out on saucer before store away

one spec of pollen ,one pistil together = one seed so sprinkle away all steps involved can be done a million different ways find what works best for you research each step write them down read them over see if you got it it if not get info missing

good luck
nuthing to it
your welcome
