How long are people waiting for to get their permits from H/C?

Just wondering if things have improved since 2010 as there were quite a few write ups about how long it took for processing of applications. We're in 2013 now and I'm wondering how long people are waiting to get their permits. Have things improved since 2010? How long will I be waiting before I receive mine realistically speaking? Any thoughts? Thanks Guys.
 
I forgot to mention that in 2010 quite a few people were saying that their permits took 4-6 months before they were issued. Is that still the same even now?
 
i called in after 4 weeks of them signing canada post package, got a call back saying 1 more week for tracking number. So im guessing 5 weeks. Address renewal recently took 3 weeks.
 
I have just made an appointment with my GP Jan 28 2013 for long term depression and am starting the process to obtain my MMAR, he is a new GP to me and will have to refer me to a psychiatrist. I have seen psychologists in the past and am arming my GP with my complete history of my medical record. I will update you all here to track the progress from begining to end to get an idea of how long it takes.
 
It took me about 10 weeks for the original, and I JUST got back my renewal a week ago, that I sent in at the end of Sept. I am in NS.

Gl on yours.. Even if it is short lived. (See proposed changes set to happen in Sept of next year, if you haven't already.)
 
Thanks Bigboy buds. That 10 weeks is a long time to wait eh? In 2010 they were taking even longer. I sure hope mine comes sooner than later. Anyways, thanks for posting your comments and yes, I am aware of the new proposed regulations. I sure hope people challenge those new regs in court as making access so hard the court deems it unconstitutional. Have a good one.
 
I got mine in September of 2012.... From the time I sent paperwork out until the time I recieved it back = 3 weeks
 
That's mighty fast! 3 weeks? I could only hope that I get speedy service like that but it's already been four weeks so I guess not. Thanks for sharin Nelhsa!
 
I was out of town , came home , checked mail , it was there, 3 1/2 weeks after I applied. I think being in category 1 probably speeds up the process. I was never in doubt with my injuries that I was gonna get it but was surprised how quick it came. Was not expecting that.
 
That gives me hope willvape as I am also cat 1 as well. Thanks for letting me know how long it ook for you. I think I am at 5 weeks waiting now. Have a good day!

yeah, I guess they might very well be on vacation eh! But they sound like they're processing faster than they didback in 2010!
