How long after i clone...

...can i wait until i top or fim, if im going to. my clones go in 12/12 directly after it's finish rooting, no veg. but iv'e never tried to top or fim my clones but i fimmed my mom and i like how it turned out.. but how long can i wait? because i want strong enough limbs to be able to stand on their own and support bud, but i'm thinking topping might fuck that up.

any help... anybody top clones?

i got a buddy that does all of his at about 4-5". works out great and he gets some really good yields.
