How important is good soil to growth??

yeah, i know its kindof a vague question, but ive just been wondering, how much of a diference will a good soil make? say Fox Farm, compared to a cheaper wal-mart brand... will your plants grow much better on the fox farm quality??

Premium soil will give you these advantages:

Less chance of bugs, parasites, disease.
Better medium for the microherd (the invisible ecology that makes soil so healthy).
Improved root aeration ... a big one imo.
A leveling effect on nutrient binding and release.
No worries about micro - and "forgotten" nutrients like Ca, S, Si.

It's like a bag of Chee-Tos vs. a plate of sushi. Both'll feed ya ... cn

You have to look at it like a formula one driver with the right tires will win the race. U have to worry more about environent then soil if u were a 5 year veteran in growing then yeah I'd say soil is a bug deal but for the first couple grows focus on light and environment

I wish I could reach out and smack the back of your head. The medium your plant grows in is not a big deal. It's a huge deal. And it's especially important for new growers.
