How I clean my in-line perc bong.

So I've seen some post about problems people have cleaning their inline perc bongs and figured I'd post what I do. Not saying my way is the best way but it works for me.

Here's my current bong.


And this is the pre-cooler I use with it.


First off, you need more than one bong. My way takes about a week. I picked up a 5 gallon bucket at Home Depot and a one gallon jug of Simple Green. I pour the Simple Green in the bucket along with another gallon of water and drop my bong in. I've got an 18.8 mm plug for the bowl hole so I don't have to completely submerge it. If you don't have a plug or your bong is taller, either add more water or a Simple Green/water mix.

Now walk away for a week. That's why I have a second bong.

After a week, pull your bong out and rinse with warm to hot water and you'll have a perfectly clean bong. Don't empty the bucket, you can reuse the Simple Green/water mix quite a few times.

Couple of warnings.

1. Only use this on glass, not acrylic. Acrylic will absorb the pine smell.
2. This will strip anything that has been silk screened on the glass. If you look at the images above, the "Nautilus" and "Octopus" logos came right off.

Fill it with 91% iso and sea, kosher, or epsom salt... then shake the shit out of it... maybe a good 1-3 minutes... should clear every thing out.

u'd rather wait a week?... i just cleaned mine in 3 mins.. it took me longer to clean my downstem

same i got a double perc and it takes me about 3-5 mins to get it lookin new with salt and alcohol

how are u guys cleaning ur downstems? i usually use a pipe snake but i lost it... looking for a new way now

I would be so pissed if my roor label came off...

i throw my down stem in a ziplock bag normally double zip
and put my iso and salt in there, roll up the bag a little, hold the downstem in the middle and shake it. works awesome for me and have not had any mishaps

Your label shouldnt come off. i had a hbg downstem that i cleaned alot and it never came off. it did fade a little tho

What wait? Sure if I only had one bong it might be an issue but I just rotate my bongs through so I always have a clean bong. About once a week I pull out a clean bong and but a dirty one in.

I just say fuck it, throw it in the trash (or smash it) and make a new one. Sheesh. Anyone who knows me well knows I never clean my glass. Friends do it for me when they get disgusted by it. <G>

I actually prefer the clean look without the logo.

i would if it wasnt collectable. my roor is like 6 years old. if i had a chinese Topoo brand i would be scrubbing it off.

my hand pieces are usually dirty but i wash my tubes like there dishes after each day of use.

Everything gets cleaned with acl/salt , the tubes i plug one end and swish salt/alc inside then clean it with a pipecleaner....ash catcher gets cleaned the same way

I'm a new owner of a EFS 14'' bent neck stemless inline, and was wondering does the course salt, like rock salt,sea salt, doesn't that scratch or score the glass ????, I have used Iso and salt in my color changing pieces and noticed no scratches, but this is my first clear glass piece and a good choice, I should of bought this type of piece years ago, cause they hit fantastic,for daily medicating,so I want to take good care of it.
