How early can i sample a bud and will i get a buzz?

Hey, Quick question. I have an auto ak-47 and it has been flowering for over three weeks and has plenty of bud sites. still has probably around three weeks till it's ready.

I want to smoke a bud to sample.

I know i should wait untill it's all the way ready and such but i'm out till friday and i'm only talking about one popcorn bud.

how should i dry and will i get a buzz if i do this??

i'm basically going to do it so any advice would be very appreciated.

it wont really get you high. if you have ferts in it right now its gonna taste like shit. try it and find out.

id hold out man, do you have a picture of the plant?

if your gona do it, id dry it in a cigar box, and it should be smokeable by tomorrow morning if you snip it tonight

nah no pic- I actually have a grow journal going for them but billz needed to be paid and the camera had to take a backseat. its about 15 inches tall and mass branchy. Stopped growing upwards totally like ten days ago. And yes i've been using a buch of tiger bloom and molasses on it. so i expect it will taste like trashcan.

on a side note, this thing is taking twice as much tiger bloom as my other plants and it has no sign of burn--probably the equivelent of 6 teaspoons a gallon. Anyone else know about this with auto ak's?

I'm not sure how long your plants are, but I can tell you from my first timer experience..

The nug's I had (small btw, very small) even when dried well tasted like hell...Ugh, there is nothing like the after taste of pre-mature bud that has not been flushed, of that I can assure you.

Now, on the obverse; I am a light weight since I tend to shy away from dealers and as such, the reason I am growing now.

First hit got me buzzed. Second hit got me a real nice buzz.
I had to trim a bit more due to the plants restricting air flow in my particular setup. That was a bout a week later. Let it hang dry then paper bagged it for a couple days. That first hit got me high as fuck!! Still tasted like crap, don't get me wrong, but this light weight was a couch bound...

Now I look at them babies and think, "your asses are getting flushed and dried/cured"...Not gonna fuck with pruning/clipping or anything else at this point. Now, I simply have to wait it out...Which is fine by me. I got offered up "just a taste" of their potential. can't wait for them to be all they can be..

got a but that weighed .7 letting it dry from 8pm till midnight-then i'm gonna try half then and half after work tomorrow. I'll report on it just for informational purposes. Maybe this will be informative to someone else in my situation.

thanks for that man, It gives me more insight as what to expect.

I was sampling to get a sneak peak as well.

I'm sure the final product will be much more splendiferous.

its gonna be like .2 dry, not 2 bowl packs, id save it all till after work, it aint gonna be dry by midnight

yeah it seems like midnight isn't going to really make a difference- i so i'll get to it after work...

everyone says it will taste like hiner and unfortunately i'm sure it will . I'm new to this so i have a huge curiosity i need to take care of.

i'm sure i'll be pissed off i did this after all is said and done.:wall:

me and my gf sampled our bagseed plant probably a dozen times, maybe even more lol we were tight on money and couldn't afford smoke, we couldnt resist either. I was extremely impatient, I cut buds off and oven dried them at about 100 degrees with the oven door slightly open. About 15 minutes later (or less) you got some smokeable shit. I find if you dont breath through your nose it works wonders. And ya we got fried, we are somewhat lightweights ourselves though. heres a picture of what I ended up harvesting. The other picture is the cola I lost due to mold :(

Yeah i felt the same way this week. Thanks for the method to dry if i get impatient again.

Those look lice some nice buds. shame that cola got skanky on ya.
What kind of light were you using?

I dried a popcorn bud for a readiness test for three days. I was bombed (Lowryder 2). I thenwaited for the soil to dry a bit and then flushed. Planning on haversting 7-9 days later.

it was my first grow, which I sorta started on a whim. Started out on my stove top under one cfl, small 13watt one too. Grew it under that for about 2 months, then switched to 2' floros with plant bulbs. Few weeks later got myself a 150watt hps with an enclosed ballast and bulb included for $77.95 from www.hidhut.com

you can do it when ever its your plant but i would try it out if i was you

i swear a cigar box over night would be better than an oven(mine dont even co lower than 250) or defrost on the microwave.

alright...

So i got like half a bowl of actual smokable "bud".

it had 21 hours to dry. It tasted like burning grapefruit? best way to describe it.

It gave me a headache. a small but noticeable buzz that was gone in 4o minutes.
