How does my 9 day old girl look?

The reflective stuff is the rolls of insulation that I got from Lowes. I don't know if its the right kind of thing to use, but I'm growing in the basement and I thought it might keep the heat in my area better than something else.

That stuff is perfectly fine for reflective material. It is practically just like mylar in that it scatters the light in all directions. Foil is the absolute worst as it can actually cause hot spots to form on certain areas.

I'm gonna wait a couple of days to post pictures. I don't need a second opinion.
I just looked at her and my little girl is growing up! She's getting hair! She also grew an inch and a half since yesterday morning. Tomorrow I have to raise the lights for the second time.

I'm a little confused this morning about a change in her behavior. PH and PPM both went up over night. What would cause this?

I'm not worried because she did grow an inch overnight and more white hairs have come out.

I'm a little unsure about what my PPM should be on a fresh fill. I'm switching to distilled water. So correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm switching from spring water that had a PPM of 227 to the distilled which is close to 0. I'm using Foxfarm grow big and big bloom and CaMG+ for 1 more week, then I'm going to add tiger bloom. My PPM has been running in the 6-800 range over the last week of the spring water. So, my question is, I did a refill of the res today and used the recomended dosage of nutes and my PPM is only 460. Is this sufficient because the PPM is almost all the proper nutes instead of 1/3 whatever was in the water?

Looking great Markl! Mine just sprouted out this morning! I have been using distilled, it seems like it will be easier to keep the PPM to my liking. Did you start the nutes right when it sprouted or did you wait a week or so. I have been seeing mixed ideas on here. Also, how did you regulate the water temp? The lamp for mine is obviously as low as it goes and the temp has been hovering around 74. Did it go down as you raised your hood? I will be starting a log tonight now that I have something to take a picture of.

I started nutes at about 2 weeks. I haven't even checked my water temp. Just the temp in the grow area. I figure if she looks happy it must be ok. If I remember right you are doing an AK-47 auto also. I'm curious to see if you run into the cal-mag deficiency like I did. What is your opinion of my post from the 9th about PPM?

You got it AK-47 Auto lowryder. As for your question, if it looks good and the PPM is around 500-700 i would think you are fine. Keep an eye on it. You can tell if she is drinking more water than nutes if the PPM begins to rise. Then you can decrease the nutes. Overall she looks good, so I would just stay at what you are doing.

I have GH nutes and the Cal-Mag suppliment. So right at two weeks in going to begin all of them in low doses. Hopefully she responds well!

FYI I have two growing in my system. I figured since they are both Lowryder strains the one system will be able to handle it. I guess I will find out :-P

I'm pretty sure it was the PH adjustments, but as long as the new growth is good no worries...There are lots of ways to burn the plants ...I think the cal mag thing is important if your using RO or distilled water...no minerals...I haven't used mine in two years...but I use tap water....

I forgot about that. The PH getting stabilized was at the same time as camg+. I started out with distilled, then switched to spring. Now I'm back on distilled. She is eating up all I give her. Water and nutes. This morning my PPM is down to 220, PH is stable. Just rising slightly on a daily basis. My un-educated opinion is that 220 isn't enough now that she is flowering. Do I empty and refill? Which I usually do once a week on Sunday. Or do I add more nutes with the water that I add to the tank? BTW, she looks awesome!

Soooo jealous :hump: Looking very nice. I can only hope mine look the same in 26 days. Its funny, i have the same PPM and PH meter. And I was looking into getting those same clamp lamps from lowes. I'll be starting my journal tomorrow. The little seedlings are looking good so far. One began growing the wrong way, but I fixed her.

Not bad Mark, not bad at all dude...Get those cfls as close as you can, closer the better. Use your hand as a temp gauge...I dont see a fan? Oscillating if you can but any small one will do...I have the same testers as well...
