How Does It Look So Far?

I just set this up today, I will be adding more seedlings in 1 to 2 days depending when they pop, but for now during this stage is this set up fine? Then when the plants sprout I was thinking about hanging an identical container with tin foil in it upside down. I would hang it and run the cord to the lights through the top. Then when the plants get bigger I can just raise the top a little bit and hang tinfoil around the sides to surround the whole plant. Does that seem like it would work fine? Also I posted a pic of the bulbs I am using, is this a good choice for a cfl?

I wouldnt use tin foil as i have heard tht it can cos burn spots on the plants it would be better of with mylar or black n white sheeting or just paint it all a matt white dont use gloss as it will absorb ur light rather than reflect the light

I use tin foil with no problems... TF reflects about 55%... Mylar and white paint do better... However, if you "hear" it causes 'burn' spots... That is pot growers Bull Shit that they are "Parroting"... Maybe if you wrap your plants in tin foil, and run a 1000w MH on top, and the four sides would tin foil be an issue [not with CFL's].... ADD MORE LIGHT, now, and as you can afford.... GOOD LUCK!

agree...scrap the tin foil...buy a $3 emergency blanket

during the grow phase you should use mostly 6500K and some 2700K....and flower use mostly 2700K and some 6500K (3:1 ratio is normal)...then add a few 5000k for additional spectrum

your lights are too far away.....should be 1 to 2 inches from plants

can't make out what all that electrical tape is for....is your cord spliced?....sorry but it all looks a bit mickey-mouse and rather unsafe from an electrical perspective

Haha that made me laugh, I have been grabbing supplies every time I go to the store, lol. I will use the tin foil for now and look into the mylar and the matt white. Thank you boys!

I need to add the other pictures, I lowered the lights and added a top to it, that tape is to hold the socket adapter into the outlet because the lights are so big and heavy I was worried about them falling on the plants

Like indoor said, you have the flowering lights, you want some 2700K for you seedlings/vegging or you will end up stretching more than you want, particularly when using CFL. You will also want to get some airflow in there that can slightly move the seedlings when they pop up. This will get them fresh air and help promote strong stems.

Mr. ISK, and i'm not being critical here-just axin', do you have any evidence that this "additional spectrum" is beneficial?

Hi,
contrary to popular belief tin foil is not a good medium for reflecting the light. A whiteboard, like hardboard, is far better to do the job. you can buy in a builders merchants, reasonably cheap maybe 10£ for 8ft x 4ft sheet.
cheers
