thats the way i heard it, but it was a reference to jail
 
you help people, or doing something that otherwise earns you reputation, or a good name, or however you would like to look at it. it is a misused and abused system, but its a hell of a lot of fun!!!
 
Its abuse of the rep system in my opinion as you will get much more by contributing to the site and posting/helping others.
